Privacy Policy

Overview

TeeSync ("TeeSync," "we," "us," or "our") builds an iPhone app that lets groups find, coordinate, and book golf tee times inside iMessage. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the TeeSync app, our website, and related services (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account information — your name, phone number, and email address when you create a TeeSync account.
• Booking information — the courses, dates, tee times, player counts, and group members associated with rounds you organize or join.
• Payment information — handled by our third-party payment processor and, where applicable, by the golf course. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We may retain a payment confirmation reference, the last four digits, and the card brand for receipts and support.
• Support messages — anything you send us by email or through the contact form on this site.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — screens viewed, features used, and actions taken in the app, used to understand what's working and what isn't.
• Device and diagnostic data — device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, and crash logs.
• Approximate location — only if you grant permission, and only to surface nearby courses and day-of weather for your round.

Information we deliberately do not collect

• We do not upload, store, or scan your full address book.
• We do not read the contents of your iMessage conversations. TeeSync runs as an iMessage app extension and only receives the data you explicitly submit through a TeeSync invite or response.
• We do not collect precise background location, health data, or contact lists for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Show course availability and pricing, and complete tee time bookings.
• Deliver invitations, accept/decline responses, and booking confirmations to your group through iMessage.
• Send round reminders, payment reminders, and a day-of weather update.
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Analyze aggregate usage to fix bugs and improve the app.
• Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only where it's needed to run the Service:

• Golf courses — the booking details required to hold and honor your tee time (typically the host's name and contact details and the number of players).
• Members of your group — people you invite see the round details and who else has accepted. They do not see your payment details.
• Payment processors — to authorize and settle transactions.
• Service providers — hosting, database, error monitoring, analytics, and email/notification delivery vendors who process data on our behalf under contract.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of TeeSync, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — if TeeSync is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We'll notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different policy.

4. iPhone Permissions We Request

• Contacts — requested only when you choose to invite someone. We access the specific contacts you select in order to address the invite, and we don't upload your address book.
• Location — optional. Used to sort courses by distance and to pull local weather for your tee time. You can decline and still use every core feature.
• Notifications — optional. Used for booking confirmations, round reminders, and payment reminders. You can turn these off in iOS Settings at any time.

You can review or revoke any of these permissions in the iOS Settings app under TeeSync.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Booking records are retained for up to seven years to satisfy accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations, even after an account is closed. Diagnostic and crash data is retained for up to 24 months. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to you.

6. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct — update inaccurate information from your profile or by contacting us.
• Delete — delete your account and associated personal data (see below).
• Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit certain processing.
• Withdraw consent — revoke contacts, location, or notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

To exercise any of these, email info@tee-sync.com. We respond within 30 days and will never charge you or degrade your service for making a request.

7. Deleting Your Account and Data

Deleting your account removes your profile, saved preferences, contact details, and the ability to sign back in. Some records are retained where the law requires it — specifically completed booking and payment records needed for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes — and anonymized, aggregate usage statistics that can no longer identify you. Bookings that have already been transmitted to a golf course remain with that course under its own policies.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 — identifiers, commercial information (booking and transaction records), internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, and, if you provide them, the contacts you select for an invitation. We collect these for the business purposes described in Section 2 and disclose them to the recipients described in Section 3.

We have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not do so today. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

To submit a request, email info@tee-sync.com. We may need to verify your identity by confirming details already associated with your account. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with written permission.

9. Children's Privacy

TeeSync is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@tee-sync.com and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored data, access controls limiting employee access to what's necessary, and third-party payment processing so card numbers never touch our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and any applicable regulator as required by law.

11. International Users

TeeSync is operated from the United States and our service providers are primarily located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
